We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Community Relations to lead and enhance our community outreach initiatives.
Position Summary
The Director of Community Relations will be responsible for developing and implementing community engagement strategies that align with the Blitz Football League's mission and values. This role will focus on building strong relationships with community partners, managing outreach programs, and enhancing the league's presence and impact within the community.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive community relations strategies that support the league's goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for community engagement and outreach.
Program Development: Create, manage, and evaluate community programs, events, and initiatives that promote the league's commitment to social responsibility. This includes youth programs, charity events, and educational workshops.
Partnership Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, schools, non-profits, and local businesses. Seek and secure partnerships that enhance the league's community presence.
Event Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of community events, including game day community activities, volunteer events, and player appearances. Ensure events are well-organized and effectively promote the league's brand.
Public Relations: Serve as the league's representative at community events and functions. Develop and maintain positive relationships with media outlets to promote community initiatives.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for community programs and events. Ensure volunteers are effectively utilized and appreciated.
Budget Management: Develop and manage the community relations budget. Ensure all initiatives are cost-effective and within budget constraints.
Reporting and Evaluation: Track and analyze the impact of community relations activities. Prepare reports for senior management to demonstrate the value and outcomes of community engagement efforts.
Collaborative Projects: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, operations, and player management, to integrate community relations efforts across the organization.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Sports Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in community relations, public relations, or a similar role, preferably within a sports organization.
Skills: Strong leadership and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM software.
Attributes: Passionate about community engagement and social responsibility. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by events.
