Position Summary
The Sports Management Intern will support the operations and management team in executing the day-to-day activities and long-term projects of the Blitz Football League. This role offers a comprehensive introduction to sports management, providing valuable hands-on experience in a professional sports setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of league events, including game days, tournaments, and special events. Duties may include venue setup, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring a smooth event flow.
- Team Support: Work closely with league teams to ensure they have the resources needed for practices, games, and travel. Help manage team logistics, equipment, and scheduling.
- Operations Management: Support the operations team in maintaining league standards, including facility management, scheduling, and compliance with league regulations.
- Player Relations: Assist in managing player communications, addressing inquiries, and supporting player welfare programs. Help coordinate player appearances and community engagement activities.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data related to game performance, attendance, and other key metrics. Prepare reports to assist in decision-making and strategic planning.
- Community Outreach: Help organize and promote community outreach initiatives, including youth clinics, charity events, and fan engagement activities.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties such as maintaining databases, managing correspondence, and preparing documents for meetings and presentations.
- Collaborative Projects: Work with different departments on special projects aimed at improving league operations, marketing efforts, and overall fan experience.
Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, Event Management, or a related field.
- Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with sports management software is a plus.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Passion for sports, particularly football, is highly desirable.
- Experience: Previous internship or relevant experience in sports management, event coordination, or operations is preferred but not required.
